Odyssey Travel, educational travel specialists for the over 50s since 1983, is a not-for-profit organisation made up of member universities in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. We offer a portfolio of stimulating educational tours for active, inquisitive travellers.

Odyssey Travel's fully escorted travel programs offer a unique opportunity for the discerning adult to make the satisfying leap from tourist to traveller. By adding value to your travel we enhance your travel experience and create more meaningful memories.

We research your needs and prepare programs to satisfy them. Our programs are designed to broaden your knowledge in an informal atmosphere. Our prices represent true value for money and we are happy to consider scholarship applications from people who receive an Australia or New Zealand Government full aged pension and cannot afford to undertake our programs.

Programs are published in catalogues and magazines and are available upon request from Odyssey Travel. The scope of our programs is extensive, and your special interests will probably be catered for. Please feel free to request a copy of our publications and let Odyssey Travel know if your special needs are not satisfied.

We include many extra services at no extra cost to you: airport and departure taxes, excursions, presentations and most meals. You must consider inclusions when you make your selection. As an IATA and fully licensed travel organisation in Australia and New Zealand, Odyssey Travel provides the direct and personal service of a travel agent without the expense of commissions and booking fees.

Odyssey programs are designed for people who want to learn by doing, seeing for themselves and experiencing. Participants on some programs have found themselves far away from the well trodden tourist paths, and often they have the opportunity to go to places that few tourists have ever visited. While this is one of the best features of an Odyssey experience (and a good part of the fun!), a little flexibility and an open mind in the face of the unexpected all help to make our programs more enjoyable and beneficial.

About the Accommodation
Location, food, service, amenities, layout and atmosphere are all considered when assessing accommodation suitability for Odyssey travellers. Our goal is to balance comfort and price. Venues range from tourist hotels and motels with private facilities to university college accommodation and guest houses with shared facilities, through to specialist accommodation centres and even camping!
