23 Nights in France

Limited Singles With No Single Supplement
Featuring Provence, the Auvergne, Carcassone & Paris

This program takes us from the lively French capital high into the dramatic mountain scenery of the Auvergne and the rich Gallo-Roman history and diverse culture of Provence. We explore the land of the Cathars as we stay close to Carcassonne, France's largest and best preserved mediaeval citadel. From the pretty village of Ayen, we experience the gastronomic region of Périgord, renowned for its foie gras and its outstandingly verdant countryside. The program concludes in Paris.

Led by local experts on walks and visits to the best of these fascinating regions, we not only explore real France but we experience it as guests of "Villages de Vacances". Here we live French culture as the French do - staying in their holiday villages located in outstanding natural settings and comfortable "gîtes", apartments or chalets, equivalent to 2 star hotels, clustered around a central reception area with a typical restaurant and often other excellent facilities including a pool.

The accommodation in "Villages de Vacances" centres includes private facilities and full board with authentic French cuisine and wine with meals! The arrangement of chalets means that in most centres, 2 people can share a "gîte", each benefiting from his or her own bedroom with a shared bathroom. Single travellers may share a "gîte" with separate bedrooms and shared bathrooms.
