15 Nights in the USA

Featuring Art, History and Culture
The cities of Boston, Washington and New
York boast some of the most richly-endowed cultural
institutions in the world. These cities are also brimming with history, from
the first settlement of Europeans in America,
through the struggle for independence and the civil war to the emergence of the
United States
as a major power in the 19th and 20th centuries.
This tour begins in Boston, scene of the earliest European
immigration and a thriving 19th century literary and artistic culture. Over
four nights in Washington we witness how the
grand aims of the Union are played out in
monumental art and architecture. The tour concludes in New York, the greatest city of the 20th
century and home to an extraordinary range of cultural sites. Also included are
excursions to the `gilded age' mansions of Rhode Island
and to Jefferson's Monticello estate in Virginia.
A highlight of the tour is a private after-hours visit to the Metropolitan
Museum of Art in New York.
A four-day extension tour to Chicago allows you to investigate this city's
famous skyscraper architecture, tour some of Frank Lloyd Wright's most renowned
buildings and visit the impressive Chicago Institute of Art.
Accommodation is in comfortable four-star hotels throughout.
