Denis Simond, (Executive Director & CEO) Macquarie University, Sydney graduate, majoring in adult education and behavioral sciences. He began in school education prior to joining Qantas Airways as an Education Officer, and worked in Australia and New Zealand in various roles in Training and Development, Cabin Crew Training & Standards, Regional Sales and Sales & Marketing. Denis has guest lectured in Education and in the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching at Macquarie University, and lectured at the Institute of Administration, University of New South Wales. He joined Odyssey as Executive Director in 1995. Kerry Kyriacou (Chief Operating Officer) was appointed to the role of Accountant in 1995, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Accountancy and Legal Studies from the University of Wollongong. He is a member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants. Kerry's current role is Chief Operating Officer responsible for Operations, Finance and Administration. Prior to joining Odyssey Travel, Kerry held various finance and accounting positions in government and private sector organisations. Kerry has travelled extensively throughout Europe, UK, Asia, Hawaii and North America. Kerry is married to Viean. They have one son, Daniel, who is 2 years old. The family spent a month recently holidaying in Cyprus, Dubai and Singapore.
George Dibley (Operational Standards Manager, New Zealand) has worked for 25 years in University adult education which involved him in a wide variety activities, summer art, writing and music schools, professional continuing education for teachers, engineers and a wide range of other professions, the organization of large high profile international conferences and the development of educational travel programs. In the later role he organised study tours to a range of destinations and has led tours himself in Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. He has led three successful tours in Germany. Music is a strong interest and, with a colleague from the University of Auckland he has designed and led 16 successful opera tours to Australia and Europe. He has continued this interest with Odyssey, selecting the program for Odyssey's first Australian Opera program in Melbourne in 2005 and for the 2006 program in Sydney. |
